About Farmington Centers
Farmington Centers, Inc. was formed in 1989 to manage the Assisted Living facilities owned by various partnerships in which the principals were the general partners. Farmington began managing two facilities with a total of 72 beds. Over the years, we have built and developed six additional communities, purchased four communities and expanded the two original facilities. We currently operate sixteen campuses in Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
Farmington Centers, Inc. operates a range of Senior Living Communities. The continuum of care we are able to provide ranges from Independent Retirement Living to Skilled Care. Our goal is for each of our communities to provide an energizing environment for the residents. We do this by providing stimulating activity programs, serving quality meals, and continually attending to the special needs of each resident. It includes maintaining our communities in a manner that typifies the home-like atmosphere the residents have enjoyed in their own homes or apartments. The residences are designed and managed around a social environment rather than a medical model. Occupants are referred to as residents, not patients. Emphasis is placed on what residents can do, and NOT on what they cannot do. Residents are encouraged to do as many things for themselves as they can. The emphasis is on wellness rather than dependence. Employees are referred to as caregivers rather than nurses or nurses’ aides. Medical treatments, when needed beyond what can be provided by the Registered Nurse, are supplied by outside providers.
The individual campuses are owned by various real estate partnerships. Farmington Centers operates each campus under a management agreement with the owner. Each individual campus has an on-site administrator. This administrator has responsibility for budgeting, marketing accounting and operational policies and procedures established by Farmington Centers.
